How can I be happy 2? A Bible reading, appreciation exercise and prayer to improve your day.
Here is a little exercise we did as a team:
1. Pause for a moment.
Take some breaths and slow down. Make your exhale (breathing out) longer than your inhale.
2. Read Ephesians 1:1-2 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, to God’s holy people in Ephesus, the faithful in Christ Jesus: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3. Ask the Lord for his grace and peace
4. Bring to mind a favorite place.
a. Think about what you are thankful for about it.
b. Go back into the memories that come to mind when you think about the place. Spend a bit of time in it and think about who was there and what happened.
c. If you feel sad because you think of someone who has now left your life, then go on to another memory and start at A again.
Focus in on the good memory and ask God if there is anything he wants to show you
d. Then do the cycle ABC again
5. Write a two - five word summary of the memory
6. Pray for the Lord to bless anyone else who was with you in the memory
